Life Leisure Grand Central is the one for a proper day out. Netmums lists it among the best swimming pools in the Manchester area for its 50m main pool, water slides and varied sessions, noting Baby Splash and Toddler Splash for ages 0 to 4 and an oasis pool suited to little ones. One swimming blogger calls it the flagship of the council estate and the home base of Stockport Metro swimming club, but also counts only three private shower cubicles, which means queues at busy times. Reviewers rate the slides as good value, though slide access costs extra on top of standard entry, there is no cafe on site, and reviews mention maintenance and inconsistent management.

The other two Life Leisure sites suit families committed to lessons. Life Leisure Hazel Grove draws praise for patient, skilled instructors, clean facilities and a sensory garden, and one writer describes the building as looking new and sparkly. Life Leisure Romiley has a well regarded pool and a smaller children's pool for young swimmers, but reviews repeatedly flag parking that cannot cope with parallel lessons and viewing seating that fills at peak periods, so walking or cycling there is the sensible plan.
