Kelsey Park Playground is the pick for children up to about ten who want more than swings: reviewers combine the play equipment with the adjacent mini golf (weekends and school holidays, under 12s accompanied by an adult, so check payment options beforehand) and a cafe whose outdoor seating opens directly onto the younger children's area. Separate dog-friendly and dog-free zones are signed on arrival.

The quieter two are nature walks rather than playgrounds. Harvington Woods is a 20 to 30 minute circuit with a shallow stream for paddling on warm days and shaded paths, though reviewers note mud after rain and busy roads at some edges. South Norwood Country Park | Lake suits toddlers and wildlife-curious kids, with viewing platforms over reed beds, an on-site cafe and free parking; reviewers say two of the four jetties are currently closed due to disrepair.
