World Museum

“I absolutely loved this museum. Five floors of amazing facts, history, and knowledge, yet my mum and I only made it to the third floor. We spent four whole hours just wandering through those first three levels, soaking everything in. The aquarium was a delight. I was amazed to learn that it is the second-oldest aquarium in the world, and from what I could observe (with my admittedly limited knowledge), the fish and other marine animals seemed well cared for which is a big plus in my book. And then came the permanent Egyptian exhibit. A dream come true. I’ve always been deeply fascinated by ancient Egypt, and this museum’s collection is truly outstanding. Dare I say it even surpasses the British Museum’s Egyptian section? I could be wrong — it has been a while since my last visit there — but that was my honest impression. And the mummy room? I could have spent hours in that one space alone. I’ll definitely be back. There are still two more floors waiting for me, and I can’t wait to uncover the rest.”

“The World Museum Liverpool is an impressive and surprisingly fun museum, especially because of how diverse and interactive it is. You can easily spend hours there without getting bored, moving from exhibitions about science and space to history, technology and natural history. The sections with machines and trains are fascinating, and the animal galleries, including the gorillas, make the experience even more engaging and memorable. Great to go with kids too. Everything is well organized and easy to understand, which makes the visit feel dynamic rather than overwhelming. It’s free to enter, centrally located and perfect for anyone who enjoys learning while actually having fun, not just walking through displays. I didn’t have to buy the ticket in advance, so I wouldn’t say it is necessary. Also, it’s close to the docks so the location is great. Loved it!”

“Although we visited on a Monday when the museum is usually closed, it was open because it was local school holidays. I remember visiting this museum 30 years ago, when I was a student in the city, so it was great to visit the modernised version with my family. There are common themes, that you see in alot of local museums such as dinosaurs, space, natural history and a great underwater section but our highlight was the Egyptian section. As well as the usual artifacts, there are real mummified remains on display which might not be suitable for the eyes of younger members of your family. The museum spans several floors and is free to visit, though donations appreciated, so makes an ideal place to visit with children in the holidays as plenty for them to see.”
