“5/5 Stars – An unforgettable family animal experience at Tropiquaria! We visited Tropiquaria today (me, my husband, and our 8-year-old son) and booked the hour-long animal handling and feeding experience – and it was absolutely incredible, way beyond what we expected! Our session was led by Sam, who was simply brilliant. He was so patient and engaging with our son, making him feel completely comfortable while handling reptiles and getting involved with the animals. What surprised us most was how much Sam encouraged both me and my husband to join in too – we weren’t expecting that level of family inclusion, but it made it even more special for all of us. It wasn’t just reptiles – we got hands-on inside enclosures feeding several animals, including lemurs, tapirs, meerkats, birds, and more! We had brilliant 1-1 educational time throughout, learning fascinating facts about their care, behaviours, and conservation. Everything felt personal, informative, and genuinely exciting – no boring lectures, just real interaction and fun. This kind of up-close experience takes a normal trip to your local zoo and turns it into something truly memorable and magical. The variety of animals and Sam’s enthusiasm made it perfect for kids and adults alike. It cost around £65, which included admission into the zoo for our son – fantastic value for such a unique, hour-long session packed with so many different animals. I’d highly recommend this to families, animal lovers, or anyone wanting more than just viewing from afar. If you’re in the Somerset area, book one of these experiences – you won’t regret it! “A nice collection of animals, both outdoors and indoors, great play areas for children and not hugely expensive. We went recently, haven't been since a child, and it was a pleasant time. We spent around 3 to 4 hours walking round and I'm sure we would have been longer in the summer time. Lots to see inside the buildings with fish, snakes, spiders, crocodiles and more. A good mix of indoor animals. We went to the 2pm show to touch and hold different animals which included a snake, ferret and a bearded dragon. The daughter (1Y 8M) loved it and the handlers were great. They took care of the animals as the ferret got agitated, so they took it away to ensure the animal was happy. Much better than forcing the animal to be seen. Hats off to the handlers. It was quite fun walking around with the peacocks walking around, made the place feel closer to the animals. The play areas were great, but felt it was geared more towards older children as the inside play area didn't offer much for young children. I would definitely come again in the warmer months of the year but felt like we got our moneys worth going even when cold. The staff were nice and greeting and couldn't fault the experience at all. We will be going again!”

“Very well run and presented zoo. Keepers were all clearly dedicated and very knowledgable. Feeding times were stagared to allow visitor maximum access to all the feeding schedule. All the animals looked very healthy and happy. We had hands on experience with a snake and bearded dragon. Learnt alot about the animals and thier history from the enthusiastic keepers. Thanks for a great day.”
