Spitalfields City Farm

“This place is a true Hidden Gem just a short walk from bustling Brick Lane and a stone's throw from the City you have this little exhibition farm in the middle of a lovely park. Clearly well loved by the all-volunteer staff and visitors alike, this place has plenty to entertain little ones for a good few hours. We went with 5 kids aged 2-8 and they all had a great time. Small animals we saw included ferrets, rabbits, ducks and rescued chickens and then larger animals were pigs, goats, sheep and donkeys. Lots of opportunity to see nature on the well laid out trail around the farm yards. Well maintained (nothing is new, it's very 'rustic' with lots of repurposed bits and pieces but clearly well looked after) with informative signage everywhere. Staff friendly and happy to talk to kids about the animals. Good play facilities in the farm and excellent playground outside in the park too. Will come back”

“A wonderful FREE place for adults and children in the middle of London. An oasis of peace and calm. Loads of animals, many rescued or retired. Mostly runs on the support of volunteers and by applying for various funds. Started in 1978. I really hope it will continue its good work and will not be given away for some high rise buildings. We volunteered today and had so much fun!”

Children and adults alike will enjoy visiting the place...features a vegetable garden, selection of farm animals, tea hut where we learned to make delicious herb teas, play area, cafe, mini farm shop...and more...we love coming here every time.”
