“We’ve both loved cinema going back to our very earliest days back in London. But as mortgages careers business ( running my own Consultancy ) plus Family ( 2 grandkids now ) pre occupy you don’t go often. We’ d both heard great things about Hamnet & had delayed a screening until today ( Screen 3 always seems superior ). Well what a choice and what an experience. We ‘ d pre booked so used the e ticket display & that saves all that queuing! The seats were perfect and very very comfortable. Also we’d booked two at very back as there’s lots of leg room ( both are tall ). Hamnet was superb and the acting of the two main protagonists transcendent ( ethereal ). Of course being Irish it was never in doubt. Writer and two leads are from the auld country. The “ storylining “ was superb partly the nature and connection to ancient beliefs juxtaposed with their lives and ultimately benefits of materialism through commercial success. Her earthy fecundity and deep love of children. It all plays into the harrowing death of Hamnet and Agnes blaming Shakespeare for his remoteness and alleged tardiness. Their grief is leaden & nothing mitigates it but his inspiration to Hamlet & in turn her realisation of the depth of their collective desolation is probably the most emotional moment you ‘ ll witness on celluloid.”

“It was strange going to the cinema on a Sunday but it was easier to park locally and we enjoyed the experience. Still daylight when we came out! Machine to register our tickets which I had bought online did not work but kind assistant sorted it for us.”
