“I thought £60 for an adult and a child was incredibly expensive, and it didn't even include an audio guide. The actual items collected were impressive, but they weren't displayed with much interest, the actual exhibition centre was like a conference hangar space, there just wasn't much atmosphere, or much decoration. There were a few videos and reconstructions which were fine, just all quite basic, and really missing any kind of magic, any sense of place or wonder. I thought my nephew would love it, but there wasn't actually much of an interactive element (a video is not interactive, is it...), and he just drifted through the exhibits and didn't seem to really get much excitement from it. I'm almost inclined to give two stars because of the very high price, compared to other "big" exhibitions - £20 each would have been just about ok - but some items were really impressive, so it's on balance just about worth visiting, especially for kids who already know a lot about the era and might get more out of it.”
