Kensington Memorial Park

“I found this park while looking for somewhere a bit quieter than the main Kensington Gardens, and it’s a lovely little find. It has a much more "local" feel to it, and on a weekday morning, there was hardly anyone about. I spent about forty-five minutes wandering around. It’s really well laid out—one side is all about sports with tennis courts and football pitches, but the other side has these beautiful formal sunken gardens that are great for a bit of headspace. If you’re visiting in the summer, they have a massive water play area for kids which looked like it would be a total lifesaver. The paths are all paved and easy to walk, but if you want to sit on the grass after a bit of rain, you'll definitely want a waterproof rug or some wellies. I parked on a side street nearby; it’s all pay-and-display and can be a bit tight, but I found a spot easily enough. It’s a clean, safe-feeling, and really well-looked-after park that’s perfect for a quick escape, and I’ll definitely be back.”

“This park is great! So much to keep children busy on a hot day and to cool down. The splash pad is great but it can get pretty busy, understandably, but it is still very much enjoyable. There are toilets and changing rooms here. The sand covered playground has a pirate ship and some cool giant fossils for children to dig and find. There are other bits to play on too. There is another playground right next to it for the older children, it is really cool that they have hopscotch numbers in various languages and an area for learning alphabet sign language! In this particular area of the park there is a water refill station which is handy for hydration. Upon the entrance to the park there is a large grassy area perfect for a picnic or some ball games etc. The best part...its free! There is also local on street parking which is free on weekends!”

“This park was great, it had a big splash pad with multiple jets etc. There is what looks like a tuck shop but that wasn’t open on the day as it was the start of carnival. It has a park right next to the splash pad with a part for older kids. The younger children can also enjoy a pirate ship, slide and sanded area. Also has a mini trampoline for the little ones. Would recommend this Park, the only issues I can see is although there is seating if it’s real busy you’d have to sit on a ledge around the edge of splash pad. Other than that it will be an enjoyable day for your little ones.”
